At the Crowther Clinic, we understand that you may have questions about our services, treatments, and what to expect during your visit. General Questions

Our clinic is located inside the Hospice Isle of Man building behind Nobles Hospital in Strang. Car parking space is available outside our building and our entrance is via The Tevir Centre reception, which is found on the right hand side on entry to the car park. Reception staff and signage will direct you to our clinic area within the building.

Initially the Crowther Clinic will be open each Wed from 3pm to 7pm, which will allow people to choose an appointment either in or outside the working day. If need be, we will be able to add extra hours to the opening times or open another day.

Consultation bookings should be made via our online booking form on this website.
Our consultations with our pain specialists offer a comprehensive evaluation of your situation. Our team can help diagnose issues and offer tailored treatment plans to beat pain as quickly as possible.
Our New Patient Consultations are mandatory for new customers before any treatments can be offered. The Review & Consultation option is geared to existing patients who we have already administered treatments to, who would like an updated review.

Your appointment will be with one of our Doctors and any treatment will be delivered by a Doctor. All of our Doctors are trained to deliver the treatments we offer and they are very experienced.

We specialize in treating joint pain (such as in knees, shoulders, and hips) and chronic migraines using minimally invasive injectable therapies.

Injectables can reduce inflammation, lubricate the joint, or stimulate natural healing processes, leading to pain relief and improved mobility.

Botox is FDA-approved for chronic migraine treatment. It works by blocking pain signals and relaxing muscles around the head and neck, which may reduce the frequency and severity of headaches.

No referral is necessary. You can schedule a consultation directly with us.

Most patients with chronic joint pain or migraines or those who haven't responded well to oral medications or physical therapy are good candidates. Patients currently managed on medication who may be struggling with side effects or who are keen to have a longer lasting solution may also find these treatments helpful. A consultation helps us determine the best treatment plan for you.

We can help with chronic and acute joint pain and migraine headaches. If you are waiting for replacement joint surgery, or are experiencing inflammation, pain or stiffness then our treatments will be of benefit. Please see the How We Can Help page or Contact Us if you have any questions.

There are some health conditions for which an injection of steroid and anaesthetic is restricted. You must:
be over 18 years of age
not have an open wound at the site of the injection
not have an artificial joint in the area to be treated
not be on antibiotics or within 48 hours of stopping
have no allergies to local anaesthetic or steroids
not be undergoing chemotherapy treatment
not be taking blood thinners or have uncontrolled diabetes
not be pregnant or breastfeeding
not to have had a live vaccine in the last 4 weeks
not have had Tuberculosis (TB) in the past
not have glaucoma

We'll review your medical history, perform a physical exam, and discuss your symptoms and goals. Off-site imaging (like X-rays or MRIs) may be recommended to guide treatment.
Procedure & Recovery

You may feel mild discomfort or a pinch during the injection, but the procedure is generally quick and well tolerated. We also offer numbing agents if needed.

Some patients feel relief within a few days, while others may take a few weeks. Botox for migraines typically begins to work within 10–14 days.

It varies. Pain relief from joint injections may last several months. Botox for migraines usually provides relief for about 12 weeks before needing another session.

Most patients return to their normal activities after 24 hours. We’ll give you specific aftercare instructions to follow.
Insurance & Cost

Many injectable treatments, including Botox for chronic migraines, are covered by insurance. It is important to check with your health insurance provider before attending your appointment if you intend to claim. We’ll work with you to check your benefits and provide cost estimates.

You will need to pay for your initial consultation when you book it. If treatment can be offered on the day of the consultation that will be at additional cost and we require full payment prior to any treatment being given. We can accept payment cards, cash and bank transfer.
Safety & Side Effects

Yes. Injectable treatments are FDA-approved and have been used safely for years. We use evidence-based protocols to ensure your safety.

Most side effects are mild and temporary—like redness or soreness at the injection site. We'll review all risks and answer your questions before the procedure. When completing the consent form our Doctor will discuss both the possible side effects and the benefits of your proposed treatment.
